A large coupe-style luxury SUV, the AUDI Q8 shares its mechanicals with the classic and imposing Q7, but is much sleeker and grittier: a question of proportions (it is 6 cm shorter, 3 cm wider and 4 cm lower) and style (the Q8 shows off its muscles, thanks to the huge front grille, the large air intakes in the fascia and the slender LED rear lights, joined by a light strip). The trunk capacity is reduced while remaining respectable (605 litres per sofa up) and, unlike the Q7, you can't have the pair of pull-out seats in the third row (the sloping rear window doesn't leave enough space); in five, however, you travel well. The beautifully finished cabin has a modern, linear dashboard. The highlights are the three displays: the one in the dashboard, behind the steering wheel, and the two in the console, for the multimedia system and 'climate'. Standard equipment includes all-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, 20-inch wheels (but can be upgraded to 23-inch), full-LED headlights, electronically controlled dampers, a powered tailgate and the main electronic driving aids.
