Although it has changed completely, in 2016 the Audi A5 has been updated without changing the shape and proportions of the previous model: the streamlined tail hides a boot (with a rather low access sill) that is more spacious. The steeply raked rear window and wide roof pillars, however, penalise rear visibility. The driving pleasure is remarkable: thanks to its not exaggerated weight, the car handles well and follows set trajectories faithfully: the steering is precise. Both the very fast seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch robotized gearbox and the 'classic' eight-speed tiptronic automatic are valid. Efficient electronic damping control (optional) can be set via the Drive Select system: in Dynamic mode it makes the car more responsive, in Comfort mode it softens the ride over potholes.
